Joe Cooley’s Hornpipe

joecooley.jpg I'm sure this one is actually le hAinm but I can't remember the name. It's on a very popular record - Noel Hill & Tony Linnane's LP. I've lost this record so I can't get the name of the tune. If someone can remember the name, please let me know and I'll update the title here.

I've 2 suggestions now for the name. Is it now "Kitty's Wedding to Joe Cooley"?

... Joe Cooley seems to be in the lead at the moment.

Hi Michael - Joe Cooley’s Hornpipe I think - although possibly Mr O’Brien had a hand in it in the early stages of its conception. Mary Bergin played it too on one of whistle albums, (2nd one?) which i can’t put a hand to either at the moment. Cheers Billy. By the way, just learned your Coleman’s Cross, heard it often before: I just realised Josie McDermott’s got it on his album, but never felt so inspired to learn it, so thanks for that. Andy McGann’s is now a bit of a fave too. Very tasty, funny how Sean McGuire’s version now sounds different.

    Hi Michael

Isn’t it Kitty’s Wedding that they pair with Home Ruler? Cheers Pierre

It’s Joe Cooley’s indeed. Billy is right. My mistake. They pair it with Miss Monaghan’s reel. Cheers. Pierre

Thanks for taking the time to check this. We’re back down to one name now which is enough for any tune.
