The Castlemahon Lasses (reel)

All I know about this tune is what I read about it in Ceol Rince na hÉireann vol 5.  It says there that the fiddler James McEnery composed it.  I hope I'm not decomposing it too much here.

    I remember my grandfather (James McEnery ) playing this on his fiddle. He would have loved hearing this played with the flute.

    Thanks for that information. Here is my (probably slightly dodgy) trannslation of the note in Irish in Ceol Rince na hÉireann 5 about the tune:

    ‘It was the fiddle James Mc Enery, Castlemahon, Co. Limerick, who composed this reel. It is available on the cassette Feenish Legacy with Marcus Hernon on the flute and Padraic Coyne on the guitar (side 1 track b; issued privately).

    I wonder did your grandfather compose any more tunes? This reel of his is certainly a great one by any standards
