Billy McCormick’s Jig

Here's a jig which had this name put on it when it was put on "Kerry's Own" Paddy Cronin's LP.  It was made into dots in Ceol Rince na hÉireann Vol. 3 (number 7).

I don't think it's played all that often but it is a comfortable tune for playing on a flute.

Billy McCormick was a piper that lived in Chicago around the last century. He played a set of pipes made by Taylor brothers of Philadelphia. His pipes are now owned and well played by Northern Irish piper, also Billy McCormick but no relation, who now lives in Co.Clare.

This jig can be found in O’Neills Dance Music of Ireland, No. 341, under the name …. Billy McCormick. Sometimes it’s called Billy McCormack’s.
