Palm Sunday (jig)
May 28th, 2007 at 6:48 pm (traditional irish flute, irish flute)
Here’s a popular jig. I’m sure I heard it on a well known record of a very recognizable musician but my memory seems to have fled my head.

I think I’ve remembered the record I had in mind. It was Kevin Burke and Jackie Daly’s “Eavesdropper”. My brother used to have the LP and learned this tune from it.

My iPod has versions by Jack + Jimmy Coen, Breda Keville (spelling?) and indeed John McSherry / Mike McGoldrick on the Late Session doing it.

Only ever heard this tune called Palm Sunday at sessions though it was recored by Lúnasa under the title of Scully Casey’s. Like Mike and Johns best!
