The Green Groves of Erin

I hadn't played this tune for a long time until I thought I had been asked to record it here. Once I'd finished the process I realised that "The Green Groves of" is not a synonym for "Farewell to". I'll maybe take a trip to the airport and get some inspiration for the tune I was supposed to play.

(I think I had a mish-mash of farewell to green groves in Erin's Ireland earlier.  I hope this particular tangled hank of yarn has now been been unravelled )

Nice one ! I think it’s a nice mix of two tunes. I recognize the first part of the Green Groves of Erin then three parts of Farewell to Erin. I am not sure but maybe you should check a bothy band cd with the farewell to erin tune…

Thanks for pointing that out. I’m afraid I don’t have a Bothy Band cd to check. I have an LP somewhere but something terrible happened to the turntable a few years ago. I’ve had a cup of tea and I think that has had the required effect. I hope this is now the right tune.
