Ríl Gan Ainm (2)

I'm starting to run out of names.  I don't know how the tunes will hold out but I'll maybe give up at Ríl Gan Ainm (202).

In the meantime, here's a good reel which is really a fiddle tune.  Bits of the second part would normally be an octave lower but hopefully this setting works OK on the flute.   If anyone knows a name for this tune, I'd be interested to hear it.

I think I listened to this on a CD where it was called Mulqueens but who knows.

It’s also known as ‘Free and Easy’ (and sometimes ‘Free and Sleazy’, around the places where I play…) and for some reason we always repeat the 2nd part, but nobody else seems to play it that way.

I know this one as Mulqueen’s Reel. There are probably other names for it if you don’t like that one, though. There’s a band in Boston that recorded it as “The Best Donegal Reel Ever”, so there’s another for you.
